Contract Instructor Teaching Opportunity
Summer Term 2026
Pursuant to Article 16.3 of the CUPE 4600 Unit 2 Collective Agreement, subject to Article 16.2 and 16.4 through 16.7, applications are invited from members of the CUPE 4600 bargaining unit and other interested persons to teach the following courses in the Department of Health Sciences during the Summer 2026 term:

Course description: Other trial designs, recruitment of patients, data collection and quality control, interim monitoring, audits, inspections, timelines.
We seek candidates proficient in English with research or professional experience in clinical trial management. Applicants should have a strong scholarly background to teach topics such as clinical study types in drug development and trial designs (e.g., randomized controlled trials, adaptive designs, N-of-1 trials, master protocols, decentralized trials, generics and biosimilars, multiregional trials).
Additional expertise should cover patient recruitment, training, data collection and quality control, meta-analyses from a product program, monitoring, audits, inspections, closeout, interpretation, and timeline management. Priority will be given to candidates holding a PhD and relevant teaching experience at the graduate university level.

Course description: Patient engagement, equipoise, informed consent, ethics board, monitoring, reporting/release of data in the literature, compassionate/expanded access; patient foundations, liaisons and advocates. Engaging with Indigenous communities and special populations. Considerations around translational research, generics, biosimilars, and labeling.
We seek candidates proficient in English with expertise in patient engagement within clinical research. Applicants should have a strong scholarly or professional background to teach topics including equipoise, informed consent, ethics review (IRB/REB), monitoring, data reporting and data return to patients, compassionate/expanded access, and patient involvement in trial design through liaisons, advocates, and foundations. Additional areas include participant privacy, remuneration, ethical challenges in decentralized trials, engagement with Indigenous communities and special populations, social considerations, and issues related to translational research, generics, biosimilars, and labeling. Priority will be given to candidates holding a PhD and relevant teaching experience at the graduate university level.

Course description: This course equips students with the skills to convey complex information in decision-based discussions and explain complex regulatory environments, preparing them for impactful roles in clinical trial research.
We seek candidates proficient in English with expertise in communication within clinical research and regulatory environments. Applicants should demonstrate experience in effectively conveying complex scientific and regulatory information, facilitating decision-making discussions, and engaging diverse stakeholders in clinical trial and compliance settings. Priority will be given to candidates holding a PhD and relevant teaching experience at the graduate university level.
