Delivered by Sehrish Amjad and Kristina Epifano from the Department of Equity and Inclusive Communities (EIC) at Carleton University.
Equity and Inclusive Communities’ EDI workshop is a 1.5 hour long, synchronous session that will cover key concepts in equity and anti-discrimination, and provide students with the tools, resources and awareness required to maintain and create inclusive and welcoming environments.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn about Equity & Inclusive Communities and its role at Carleton University.
- Gain greater knowledge and awareness of the protected grounds under Carleton’s Human Rights Policy and their role in upholding it.
- Opportunity to reflect, explore and learn about diversity, inclusion and equity.
- Gain a greater awareness of unconscious biases and be able to identify discrimination in its various forms.
- Build skills in creating an environment that is inclusive, anti-oppressive and welcoming to everyone.
