Scott has over 30 years of experience in the regulated health product space, including President of Canadian Regulatory Affairs for the Drug Safety Institute and Directors General (DGs) positions at Health Canada. As DG of the Marketed Health Products Directorate (MHPD), he led the directorate responsible for conducting risk/benefit assessments of marketed health products and providing policies to regulate marketed health products effectively. Before this, Scott was the DG of the Natural and Non-prescription Health Product Directorate (NNHPD), leading the program through a transitional period. He re-established its strategic vision, overhauled its policies and streamlined management systems to put the program back on track. Scott has significant experience as a senior executive in clinical trial management, government, and regulatory affairs and has worked in pharmaceutical companies, health professional associations, and non-governmental organizations. Scott earned his LL.M. from Osgoode Hall at York University, an M.B.A. from the University of Laval, an LL.B. from the University of Ottawa, and a B.Sc.
