Congratulations to Dr. Paul Mkandawire (principal investigator) and Drs. Leila Angod and Evelyn Mayanja (co-investigators) who won a prestigious Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) grant (September 2022) for a project titled  ‘Engaging Black women to address HIV/AIDS in Ontario’. The project is grounded in critical population health and critical race feminist frameworks, and aims to reduce gendered, sexualized and racialized HIV vulnerabilities and to promote resilience through active engagement of self-identified Black women in community HIV responses, programs, research, and policy action.
