Canadian Black Chamber of Commerce (CBCC) Innovation Hub opening
Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
- In-person event
Join the Canadian Black Chamber of Commerce (CBCC) and the CBCC Innovation Hub opening in Ottawa on January 25, 2024, at the Ottawa Black Business Alliance headquarters, located at 235 Montreal Rd, Ottawa, Ontario.
The CBCC Innovation Hubs is part of a national initiative to establish open-source physical centers and virtual spaces in key Canadian cities by the end of the first quarter. The Hubs, backed by funding from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev), will be an incubator for capacity building and equitable access to resources new and seasoned entrepreneurs can enjoy; information sharing among entrepreneurs, corporations, and venture capital investors; and a diverse network of experts providing technical support with innovative practices. After many months of listening and learning from the Black business community, our goal is to redefine how Black entrepreneurs get together and stay ahead.
In working towards a vision of creating generational wealth and trust, and a mission to advance Black businesses through education, empowerment and collaboration, we are committing ourselves to building an inclusive space that attracts and uplifts the growing Black business community here in Ottawa. Part of CBCC’s purpose is to create “economic and trade development for the betterment of the Black diaspora and the Canadian economy,” and our Hubs will be the cornerstone of driving the Black business renaissance.
The launch will include a modest ribbon cutting to kick off the opening and a reception to close the celebration.
