Gerardo Maldonado-Jimenez
Hatch Program Participant
Gerardo Maldonado-Jimenez is a fourth-year History and Theory of Architecture student, with a Minor in Arts Management at Carleton University. Inspired by novelty and driven by curiosity, he is passionate about change, arts and culture, the built environment, solving problems, connecting with people, and finding order in chaos. With a strong interest in hospitality and luxury retail, Gerardo seeks to become an architect with a real estate portfolio in hotels and resorts, arts institutions, luxury residential units, and heritage properties in North America and Europe. Currently, his interests lie in human resources, management, environmental sustainability, and architectural history and theory relating to luxury commercial and residential planning. Recently, Gerardo has been involved at the university as the Co-President for the History and Theory of Architecture Society and Paul Minton Centre (PMC) Volunteer Mentor. Together, these opportunities provide a platform to inspire, engage, and uplift students through managing their degrees and disabilities, respectively, with a compassionate and professional approach. Overall, Gerardo enjoys meeting like-minded individuals, learning from different cultures, and is excited for the future.
