Dr. Pal is retiring from the professoriate. Through mentoring in the bright Innovation Hub program, he wishes to give back to the Carleton and the Ottawa communities what he has received and learned through more than 4 decades-long management and teaching career.

Professor Pal is a professional engineer with a Ph.D. in Management and has 10 years of manufacturing experience that included constant streams of problem-solving challenges of many shapes and sizes and come from many sources. He, along with Professors Thomas Kunz of Engineering and Uma Kumar of Sprott had created and ran Nortel Case Competition (1998) that challenged business and engineering students to team up and innovate to commercialize targeted communication technologies developed by Nortel engineers. The program started as a Carleton Vs. U of Ottawa students’ competition became an international competition in the last two years of its 6-year long run. Professors were excited to mentor the students and judge the quality of their innovations.

In 2016, Professor Pal and a colleague were invited to speak to students on innovation models at the Macau University of Science and Technology, Macau, China.

Dr. Pal’s areas of expertise and interests that can help and assist Carleton University students include; Management, Social Good, Technology, and Innovation.
