Hosted at CU@Kanata, Innovation Morning is a signature event series that unites research, policy, and industry to explore meaningful solutions to emerging challenges.
As healthcare becomes increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and data-driven innovation, an important challenge remains: bridging the gap between technological advancement and the realities of clinical practice. Creating meaningful innovation in healthcare requires more than developing new technologies. It requires understanding the experiences of patients, the needs of healthcare providers, and the environments in which care is delivered.
Join us for Innovation Morning: Breaking Silos – Connecting Technology, Nursing and Patient Care, featuring Carleton experts and student’s from the university’s new Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Through their experiences in an innovative nursing curriculum, students will share emerging perspectives on the intersection of technology, clinical education, and person-centered care.
Together, they will explore how breaking down traditional silos between technology and healthcare can create new opportunities for collaboration, highlighting the potential impact of innovation on both the patient and provider experience. Their reflections will offer a fresh perspective on how the next generation of nurses can help shape technologies that are not only innovative, but clinically meaningful, accessible, and responsive to real-world healthcare needs.
Student presentations will be followed by an interactive Q&A session and dedicated networking time, bringing together students, healthcare professionals, technology innovators, researchers, industry partners, and community stakeholders to explore opportunities for future collaboration.
Light refreshments will be provided. This event is open to all!
