Microsoft 365 Excel Level 1 (Beginner) Virtual Workshop
October 18, 2023 at 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
|Audience:||Staff and Faculty|
|Key Contact:||Cheryl Beaupre|
Microsoft is ending support for Office 2016 and 2019 on Oct. 10/23. The current version of Microsoft Office has been renamed Microsoft 365 to reflect its growing collection of productivity apps. In order to remain on a supported version Carleton has made Microsoft 365 available to the Carleton community early, ahead of a formal rollout in early October. We encourage you to upgrade to Microsoft 365 by visiting the Microsoft 365 onboarding page and following the instructions.
Please note this Excel Workshop is suitable for PC (Windows) users. It does not include an Excel for Mac component.
During this one-day virtual workshop, you will gain an understanding of spreadsheet concepts, including the difference between various Excel versions, use quick navigation and selection techniques in workbooks and learn how to create, save, open and close Excel workbooks. You will learn how to organize columns and rows of data, edit cell contents, perform basic calculations, work with relative and absolute cell references in calculations, insert worksheet formulas, using the Insert Function dialog box to insert functions. You will become proficient in formatting worksheets, using view features to review large worksheets. You will also learn how to use Excel views to change worksheet layouts and setup files for printing and preview workbooks.
