Session Description
Crisis leadership is an imperative for leaders at all levels of higher education. Building upon themes from his new book, Post-Crisis Leadership: Resilience, Renewal, and Reinvention in the Aftermath of Disruption, this session will highlight five leadership practices that are viewed as especially critical in leading units, departments, and organizations in the period to follow a crisis. These five practices include the ability to: encourage learning, inspire growth, stimulate meaning making, pursue reinvention, and advance renewal. For those engaged in leading change and innovation in higher education, these five practices provide a guide for how long we might respond to the various institutional and environmental challenges and pressures of the current moment.
