Refund Policy

To request a refund, email lifelonglearning@cunet.carleton.ca or call: 613-520-3699.

To obtain a full refund, requests must be sent to the Lifelong Learning Program two weeks before the scheduled start date.

Cancellation requests received within two weeks of the scheduled start date will incur a 20% administration fee. Refunds are not provided after a series begins. Non-attendance does not constitute notice of cancellation.  We do not offer registration transfers.

If you have purchased an Expert Seminar using the Buy One Get One Half Off April 2025 promotion and request a refund of the full price registration, you will receive a refund equal to the price of the discounted lecture. Without the qualifying full-price lecture, the terms of the promotion are no longer met, and the remaining lecture will be charged at its regular, undiscounted rate.  This refund will also be subject to the above mentioned 20% administration fee if the cancellation request is received within two weeks of the scheduled start date.

Example:
If Lecture A is $50 (full price) and Lecture B is $25 (50% off), and you request a refund for Lecture A, you will be refunded $25 less a 20% admin fee—the value of Lecture B at its discounted rate—since you would then be considered to have purchased Lecture B at full price.

Refunds may be issued either to the credit card used at the time of purchase or by cheque, depending on the purchase date and when the refund was requested. This process follows the requirements of the Carleton University Business Office.

Cancellation Policy

The Lifelong Learning Program reserves the right to cancel a series at any time but will make its best efforts to provide a minimum of one week’s notice. In such cases, registered participants will be refunded for the series fee(s) in full. Our liability is limited to series fee(s) only. We cannot be held liable for travel and/or other related expenses.

Should a scheduled series be cancelled due to lecturer illness or a technical problem, registered participants will be offered a rescheduled lecture, recorded lecture, or pro-rated reimbursement at the discretion of the Lifelong Learning Program. Participants who are unable to attend a rescheduled lecture will be offered a pro-rated refund.
