I am in my final year of studies in Human Rights and Social Justice and Law, minoring in Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies.
Why did you want to become a mentor?
In my first year of studies at Carleton, I was a mentee part of the FYC Program. My mentor was extremely helpful and guided me through any questions and challenges I had during my transition from high school to university. Thus, I wanted to become a mentor to help other incoming students adjust to university. I was also a mentor last year, and I immensely enjoyed the experience and witnessing the growth of my mentees through the meetings we had during the program. The mentors and mentees in this program are a pleasure to work with, and I wanted to be a part of this amazing community again!
What is one thing you wished you knew in your first year?
Carleton offers an abundance of extremely useful resources, and you should maximize these resources.
