Why did you want to become a mentor?
Being away from home was an entirely different experience for me. Coming from Toronto and arriving in Ottawa, I felt very lost. Applying to the FYC as a mentee during my first year helped me develop a better understanding of my Electrical Engineering program as well as my mentor’s academic experiences with many of the courses that I have taken. I found this to be very helpful and is exactly what I want to share with incoming first-year Engineering students now that I am a mentor myself.
What is one thing you wished you knew in your first year?
Residence registration for incoming 2nd-year students; pay attention to registration deadlines!
