I’m going into my second year! I’m in the Law and legal studies program with a concentration in business law.
Why did you want to become a mentor?
Being a mentee last year, I have seen how beneficial mentors can be in terms of support in the first few weeks of university. So, I’ll be happy to help the new students and make them believe that they are not the only ones who are going through that phase. We have all gone through that phase! Also, being a mentor I would get a chance to meet so many new people :)
What is one thing you wished you knew in your first year?
I wish I knew in my first year that it’s okay if at times we are feeling lost or exhausted. It’s absolutely fine if we didn’t do well on an exam or assignment as expected. Don’t stress about these things, there is always a next time! Relax and learn something from every moment :)
