Carleton Experts Available: Federal Fall Fiscal Update

Carleton experts are available to comment on the federal government’s fall fiscal update.

Lee has appeared multiple times before the House of Commons Finance and Senate Banking committees. He has been in every Government of Canada budget lockup since 2008. He attended pre-budget consultations with the Minister of Finance in 2009 and 2011.

He was employed in the financial services sector as a loan manager in consumer, mortgage and commercial credit for an American multinational and subsequently for the Bank of Montreal in the 1970s and early 1980s.

Waddell is available to discuss measures in the fiscal update that impact the media sector.

Waddell is an expert in political journalism. He was the CBC’s parliamentary bureau chief in Ottawa from 1993 to 2001. During his time at CBC, he was responsible for all national news specials, federal and provincial elections and election night coverage.

He is the editor of and a contributor to How Canadians Communicate IV: Media and Politics, with David Taras (Mount Royal University), published in May 2012 by Athabasca University Press. He has also written chapters in a wide range of books on political, economic and media issues, and is a frequent commentator in the media on those issues.
