Cohn grew up in Israel, the child of Holocaust survivors. She is an archaeologist by profession and sessional professor at Carleton University. A member of the Ottawa Shoah Committee for the past 30 years and the Chair for five-and-a-half years, she has a strong interest in Holocaust remembrance and education.
