As parliamentarians vote today on British Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit plan, Carleton experts are available to comment.

Hurrelmann is one of the leading Canadian scholars of European integration. His research focuses on questions of politicization, legitimation and democratization in the European system of multi-level governance. He teaches in the areas of EU politics, comparative politics, European integration and state theory.

Hurrelmann serves as a co-director of the Centre for European Studies and holds the Jean Monnet Chair “Democracy in the European Union.”

Thomas’s research focuses on legislative representation, political parties and MP behaviour in Canada and the United Kingdom. He is particularly interested in the growth of all-party groups and caucuses, the changing role of religion in politics, and how legislative procedures can shape the influence of MPs.
