Ottawa Moving Into Red Zone

Key messages:

The City of Ottawa will move into the red (control) zone of public health measures effective tomorrow, Friday, March 19, 2021 at 12:01 a.m. To help limit the spread of COVID-19 and emerging variants of concern, all members of the Ottawa community are being asked to only go out for essential or necessary reasons. At Carleton, all employees are expected to continue to work remotely if they are not required to be on campus to perform work that is necessary to maintain business operations.

The majority of our current ongoing operations are not affected by this change. The Library will remain open, pre-approved on-campus research can continue, and some non-essential faculty and staff can continue to access their personal offices on campus with the appropriate approval. Carleton Athletics has provided updates to their operations on their website. Additional specific adjustments to ongoing operations will be communicated as necessary.

If you are required to come to campus to perform necessary work that cannot be done remotely, you must complete the COVID-19 Daily Campus Access & Screening Form each day you plan to come to campus and enter a university building. You must also continue to wear a mask and maintain physical distancing from others.

More information regarding how the Government of Ontario’s zones and restrictions affect Carleton University can be found on our response framework website.

Thank you for all that you are doing to help limit the spread of COVID-19 within our community.

Sincerely,

Suzanne Blanchard
COVID-19 Lead on behalf of the COVID-19 Steering Committee
