As the Democratic National Convention (DNC) enters its fourth and final day Carleton experts are available to comment on the event.

Deaville is available to discuss the role and impact of music at the DNC.

Deaville recently published an article in The Conversation, called From Beyoncé to a jubilant musical roll call, music ignites the Democratic National Convention.

He has also published two other articles on music at political conventions, one called The Unconventional Music of the Democratic and Republican National Conventions of 2016 and the second titled On the Campaign Trail(er): Deconstructing the Soundscape of the 2012 U.S. Presidential Election.

Melissa Haussman
Professor, Department of Political Science at Carleton University

Haussman, an American, teaches United States and comparative North American political science. She is a former legislative aide in the Massachusetts Legislature, elected town meeting member in Massachusetts and has worked on various U.S. election campaigns. She has published six books on comparative political institutions and policy in the U.S. and other countries and will be publishing a textbook on American politics with Stephen Brooks and Don Abelson.

Haussman regularly speaks to the media on topics related to American elections and politics.
