Paxton is a PhD student studying International Conflict Management and Resolution. Her research focuses predominately on the intersection of crime and environmental conservation. At NPSIA, Paxton has served as an Associate Editor of iAffairs Canada and as a Research Assistant for the Canadian Defence and Security Network (CDSN).
Prior to studying at NPSIA, Paxton graduated from the University of Ottawa with two Honours Bachelor of Commerce degrees (Summa Cum Laude), focusing on Marketing and International Management. She began her Master of Arts in Conflict Analysis and Conflict Resolution in 2019, and was fast-tracked to the PhD program in 2020.
Outside of NPSIA, Paxton has ample experience working with and within the Government of Canada. Currently, she acts as a Risk and Data Analyst at Global Affairs Canada. Her expertise is in data analysis, risk modelling, and strategic policy.
