The fifth annual Kinàmàgawin Symposium will be hosted by the Centre for Indigenous Support and Community Engagement on Thursday, February 8, 2024. The day-long symposium includes keynote speakers, panel discussions and a cultural performance, all focused on this year’s theme: Connecting to Indigenous Spirituality: Learning from the Land, Community, and Culture.

The Kinàmàgawin Symposium addresses timely topics—chosen by Indigenous students—relevant to Indigenous peoples and empowers students, staff and faculty at Carleton to further their knowledge and become a positive force for change.

The name Kinàmàgawin, which means Learning Together, is shared by the Kinàmàgawin report published by the Carleton University Strategic Indigenous Initiatives Committee in 2020. The Kinàmàgawin Progress Report [PDF 4.9 MB] was released in 2022.
