Five QES-AS-WA scholars traveled to McGill University in Montreal, QC, to participate in the CAAS Conference from June 12th to June 16th, 2024. The QES-AS-WA program PI, Nduka Otiono, accompanied them. The sessions offered a perfect blend of insightful presentations and interactive discussions.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity to meet many brilliant researchers and exchange views on issues facing the African continent, with a particular focus on gender perspectives in today’s African context. The CAAS Conference enriched them with a wealth of knowledge, new perspectives, and a renewed sense of purpose. QES- AS-WA scholar Jane Ezirigwe said, “The Lunch & Learn Series perfectly aligned with my professional development needs, providing valuable insights and practical knowledge. Networking opportunities were abundant, allowing us to connect with like-minded professionals and forge new partnerships. The collaborative spirit of the conference was palpable, underscoring the shared commitment to driving positive change for Africa. The Congolese food was amazing and the old city was beautiful.”
Gloria Boko Epse Agbo mentioned, “My scientific horizons have broadened, and I can only thank Carleton University’s Institute of African Studies for this opportunity.”
