About

The objective of the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship(QES) 2025 – 2028 program is to strengthen academic diplomacy within the framework of climate change adaptation and resilience. The program aims to build students’ interdisciplinary leadership skills while expanding their academic training, research capacity, and professional networks. This is achieved through established partnerships with institutions and organizations focused on addressing a range of critical issues, including agriculture, biodiversity conservation, water and public health, and girls’ education.

Carleton University has partnered with three academic institutions, two non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and one government body across three Sub-Saharan African countries; Tanzania, Uganda and Ghana.

Its collaborators include NM-AIST, TEMBO, and Echo East Africa in Tanzania; Makerere University and the Uganda Wildlife Authority in Uganda; and the University of Ghana in Ghana.

With the support of the (QES-AS) program, Carleton University and its partners have demonstrated a strong track record, aiming to achieve 50% participation of women through a multidisciplinary, multi-country, and multi-stakeholder approach.
