Mark Boulay

Professor, Department of Physics

Professor Boulay is the Canada Research Chair in Particle Astrophysics (Tier I). His research revolves around the search for dark matter, routinely ranked as one of the top three mysteries in fundamental science.

His research focus is designing and building detectors to try to directly observe an interaction of one of these particles for the first time. Currently using the DEAP-3600 detector at the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory Laboratory (SNOLAB), an underground science facility, Professor Boulay and his team continue to search for a single interaction of one dark matter particle.
