Simon Viel

Associate Professor, Department of Physics
Professor Viel is an expert in experimental particle physics. His current research goals are to:
- To develop software for detector simulation, event reconstruction and data analysis for DEAP-3600 and next-generation liquid argon experiments looking for dark matter.
- To evaluate the suitability of silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) detectors to detect scintillation light from liquid argon and xenon for future large-scale low-background experiments.
