Important Notes
- Course sections may be offered in-person, online, or as a combination of in-person and online activities. Each label clearly defines whether a “campus presence” is required or not.
- Sections of the same course may have different delivery types. For example, it is possible to have an online lecture but in-person tutorials for the same course.
- Online sections may have in-person assessments, requiring an in person and on-campus presence.
- Assessment type may not be known at the time of registration.
- Distance exam service is available if it meets the course requirements.
Course Registration Labels
The following course delivery types will appear in the “Section Information” listing in Carleton Central:

- In-person section; not for online students.
- The class is held in a classroom at a scheduled time.
- Course time and location are available in Carleton Central.

- In-person and online classes/activities.
- In-person activities may Include meetings, in-term assessment and/or the final exam.
- Online activities may include live classes at the scheduled time and/or previously recorded lectures.
- More details are available in the course outline.
- Computer requirements: high-speed Internet access, webcam, and headset with a microphone.

- Online classes/activities at a scheduled time.
- Usually, live classes/activities run every week. If not, specific dates are available in the course outline.
