Incoming Letter of Permission
Studying on a Letter of Permission
Students enrolled in a degree program at another institution may apply to study at Carleton University on a Letter of Permission.
Students who have a letter of permission from another university must be admitted as Special Students before registering. Students should include a copy of their letter of permission with the application.
Once admitted, students on letter of permission may register via Carleton Central.
Make sure you adhere to the dates and deadlines at both Carleton University and at your home institution.
Note: Deadlines to request permission to register in undergraduate Engineering courses (courses with subject codes: ACSE, AERO, CIVE, ECOR, ELEC, ENVE, MAAE, MECH, MECT, SREE, SYSC) are strictly upheld. Please visit the Faculty of Engineering and Design website for more information.
