Standing Committees
The Board of Governors has six standing committees to help exercise its oversight. Governors serve on one or two committees during their term.
In addition, the Board appoints four of its members to serve as representatives on Carleton University’s Senate.
Executive Officers
A member of the administration has been designated to serve as the Executive Officer for each committee of the Board. This person is the member of management who is primarily responsible for working with the University Secretary to:
- establish agendas for each of the committee’s meetings
- ensure that adequate background and documentation are provided
- confirm that all actions and requests of the committee are followed through
- serve as a primary liaison between the university administration and the committee Chair, responsible for properly briefing the Chair before each meeting.
