Deferred Examination Schedule: May 17-28, 2017**to be posted May 5, 2017

Please note that students are required to be familiar with the Examination Regulations section of the University Academic Regulations as well as general information regarding examinations.


For the day, time and location of your deferred examination(s) you can access your personalized Examination Schedule via Carleton Central, effective May 10, 2017 . Note: only those with a DEF grade will be scheduled for a deferred examination.

Application Status

PLEASE CHECK your grade on Carleton Central if you are not sure of your application status.

If you have a DEF for a course, but a deferred examination is not scheduled for you in Carleton Central, please contact the Examinations Office by email at or

If you do not have a DEF for a course and you did apply for a deferral, please contact the Registrar’s Office by email at or by telephone at (613) 520-3500.

Seating Plan

On the day of your exam, a seating plan will be posted in the area a half-hour before the scheduled start time.  Examinations of courses with more than one section might be written in different zones within the room or different days.  You must know both your course number and its section letter to consult the posted schedule accurately. Please review the room layout prior to the day of your exam.

Paul Menton Centre (PMC) Accommodations

Any adjustments to the day, time and/or location of your deferred examination will be updated in your personalized Examination Schedule via Carleton Central, by May 10, 2017 (one week before the first day of the exam period).  Other details on exam arrangements made through the Paul Menton Centre will be sent to your Carleton student email account by   May 10, 2017. 

Off-Campus Deferred Exams

Students who have requested to write their deferred examination at another university or college in Canada or Abroad should receive an email with their specific personal arrangements by, May 10th, 2017 if you have not received an email please contact   Exams at all centres will be written at the times scheduled for the on-campus examinations unless otherwise noted with the location information.
