SERG Seminar Series – Moe Kabbara

Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm

The Talk

This seminar explores the critical question facing Canada’s energy future: Can we afford the transition to a net-zero electricity system by 2050? Drawing from the comprehensive research and analysis presented by Moe Kabbara, Executive Vice President at The Transition Accelerator, we’ll examine the technical, economic, and social feasibility of transforming Canada’s electricity landscape.

The presentation will address three key dimensions of Canada’s electricity transformation:

Participants will gain insight into the current fragmented provincial electricity systems, historical growth patterns, and the technological pathways available to create a clean, reliable grid capable of supporting widespread electrification of buildings, transportation, and industry. The seminar will conclude with practical strategies to overcome skepticism and build momentum toward an affordable net-zero electricity future that can serve as Canada’s competitive advantage in the global transition.
