The Campus Card Office has become aware that a portion of Fall 2021 / Winter 2022 U-Pass cards that were issued beginning on August 20, 2021 and are not allowing access to transit due to an error by the manufacturer. If you were impacted by this error, you have received an email to your CMAIL account on Sep 2, 2021 at approximately 2:30 PM.
Please note that if you have already returned to our office and had a new card issued on or after September 2 (today), no further action is required.
To correct this issue, you will need to ‘tap’ your card on any of the renewal kiosks (https://carleton.ca/upass/renew-your-u-pass/) on the 4th floor University Centre. You do not require an appointment, and may access the kiosk any time the building is publicly accessible (https://carleton.ca/covid19/updates/building-updates/). Please be sure to complete your cuScreen self-assessment (https://carleton.ca/covid19/cuscreen/) before coming to campus, and follow all public health guidelines. Alternatively, if you live near an STO (Gatineau) bus line, you may ‘tap’ your card on any STO bus for the same result. Unfortunately this will not work on OC Transpo buses or fare gates.
We apologize for this inconvenience. Thank you for your participation in the U-Pass program.
