We have some new opportunities for you to get involved in the web at Carleton.

Participate in our Online User Experience Focus Group

One of the great things about the new theme is that we, as developers, have a lot of control over the workflows and language used on the backend.  We name the blocks, we can add descriptions and instructions for clarification, and we can change the flow of performing a task – such as adding a list of news posts to a page.

It is important to us that we make editing content in this theme as user friendly and intuitive as possible.  And we want your help with that.

We will be hosting an online user experience focus group.  In this session we will have a page which uses a number of blocks and functions. We will then ask participants to re-create that page and note where there were challenges. We’re looking for suggestions for naming (is there a better name for ‘image panels’?), labels, and opportunities for us to add descriptions to aid the editor.

This is an opportunity for your to influence how you, and 1300 other content editors, experience editing in the new theme.  To participate, please fill out the form below and we will be in touch with dates.

Become a Web Advisory Group Member

We have recently started a Web Advisory Group. The purpose of the group is to being the community together to discuss web policy, brainstorm new ways of doing things, suggest trainings and workshops, and give feedback on web designs. We’ll share resources and brainpower to get the best results possible.

The group will collaborate online using Microsoft Teams. This gives us an easy way to share ideas, link to resources and have conversations in a timely way. We also hope to meet for casual, in-person discussions over coffee or breakfast.

This group is open to anyone in the Carleton community. If you would like to contribute to web-related initiatives at Carleton, please sign up below.
