Media and communication are central to rapid changes currently unfolding in politics, culture and economics. The Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies (B.CoMS) provides transferable skills that help you understand these changes and stay on the cutting edge.

Computers and computer systems play a central role in business, communication, science, entertainment and medicine. Computer Science is an ever-changing discipline that studies the theory, design and implementation of computer applications and systems.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across a range of engineering activities, including the design of aircraft, vehicles, machinery, software, telecommunications systems, medical devices and solutions to environmental challenges. Along the way, you will be exposed to exciting advances in areas such as sensor technologies, robotics and global communications networks.

Carleton’s Bachelor of Global and International Studies (BGInS) is the first program in Canada to emphasize approaches that are both global (issues concerning the world) and international (between two or more countries).

You will gain a strong foundation in the scientific knowledge and methods involved in the study of human health, along with the capacity to engage in broader multidisciplinary, multi-sector, and multicultural approaches to finding solutions to some of the most crucial health issues of our time.

This “Great Books” program focuses on big ideas, explored through small discussion groups and writing assignments. The typical Humanities student loves to read and is excited about sharing ideas with students and professors.

The Sprott School of Business offers a Bachelor of International Business that will equip you with the skills, knowledge, awareness and experience to succeed globally.

Journalists are the eyes, ears and voices for their communities and the country. And the journalism skills that make you a good storyteller are in high demand in every workplace, not just in the news media. Journalists ask the important questions, report what they see and hear, and offer analysis of the changes and issues that shape our society.

Mathematical knowledge is critical to innovation across diverse fields and is applied in professions such as cryptography and security, economics, business and science. Built around a strong core of traditional mathematics, this program allows you to branch into many areas of modern mathematics and become skilled with a variety of applications.

The BMPD offers a combination of intensive hands-on workshops and lecture courses that will provide you with a strong foundation in writing, developing, creating and producing fact-based narratives across various digital media formats.

Explore the many cultural aspects of music through the study of composition, music theory, community music, computer music, improvisation, Indigenous studies, gender studies and disability studies.

The Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management program (BPAPM) program draws directly from Carleton’s research and professional strengths in the study of public administration, international affairs, politics and journalism. Examine current critical issues in society and develop the skills and knowledge to address them.
