Bringing a deep academic grounding in rights and inclusion, Dr. Samantha Butler earned her PhD from Carleton University’s Department of Law and Legal Studies, where her doctoral research focused on the empowering impact of self-advocacy organizations for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Professionally, she applied this expertise as the Research Lead for the Accessibility Institute at Carleton University, heading the Career Transitions and Accessibility in the Federal Public Service project. Her work bridges systemic research and practical application, analyzing the unique barriers and facilitators individuals with disabilities face to directly inform policy development and advance workplace accessibility.
