David C. Onley Initiative: Actioning Student Employment (ASE)
Table of Contents
Project Summary
The David C. Onley Initiative: Actioning Student Employment (DCOI ASE) Project builds on the earlier phases of the David C. Onley Initiative, 1.0 Project (2018-2020) and 2.0 Project (2024-2025). This applied research project continues to work towards improving employment outcomes of post-secondary students with disabilities in Ontario through collaboration with other post-secondary institutions, service providers, students with disabilities, employers, and subject matter experts.
DCOI ASE aims to test and further refine best practices that support students with disabilities in employment pathways and support services. The project will engage in capacity building with service providers and employers, co-creation between students, service providers, and employers, and application of key practices in real campus and employer settings during co-op and work-integrated learning pathways. The project will leverage previously developed resources such as the DCOI Field Guide and #AbleTo Tap into Talent.
