Interim Chief Advancement Officer

“Philanthropy is how people engage with their communities and contribute to building vibrant, inclusive communities.“

Our role in Advancement is to connect people and community in meaningful ways that have impact. Universities are in a unique position to enable donors to achieve impact through educating changemakers, producing research that drives innovation, and providing thought leadership that informs public conversations.

Before joining Advancement as Interim Chief Advancement Officer I was a long time Professor of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership in Carleton’s School of Public Policy and Administration.  My research has focused on the role of philanthropy in systems change and on public policy for the philanthropic and charitable sector.
