The AVRC is a departmental resource commited to furthering the research goals of Carleton SSAC students and faculty. All uers agree to operate within good faith of the University’s regulations and Canadian Copyrigtt law in terms of the use and reproduction of visual materials. In the event of loss, theft, damage and/or destruction of the loaned item, the borrower will be solely responsible for replacing the item or reimbursing the AVRC (SSAC) for the cost to fix or replace it. The borrower must immediately contact the AVRC if any harm comes to the loaned item. The condition of the loaned item will be assessed before the item is signed out, and again once the item is returned. The borrower will be responsible for the cost to repair any damage that is beyond general wear and tear.

The loaned item shall be used only by the borrower for academic purposes as described in their original request. The loaned item cannot be used for non-academic purposes. The borrower must follow all care and maintenance requirements as described in the loan agreement and/or as is reasonably expected for a particular item. The borrower will be fully responsible for the care, safekeeping and storage of the item until it is returned to the AVRC. The AVRC will not require deposits for loans.

The violation of any of the above terms may result in the immediate return of all loaned items and the refusal of any future loans.
