Many students finance their post-secondary education in part through the use of credit. If you have incurred debt through a government student loan (e.g. OSAP), a student line of credit from a bank, or a credit card, it’s important to know the truth about credit. The first and perhaps most important point to make is that not all debt is bad debt. Debt acquired to obtain a post-secondary education is good debt. But that maxed out credit card from shopping or dining out – probably not so much. So what else do you need to know? Well, we’ll leave that up to Gary Rusyn from MyMoneyCoach, who will be on campus on March 5 to debunk all the myths about credit. From establishing good credit, reviewing your credit report, to strategizing debt repayment, you’ll learn everything you need to know about that borrowed money.
