RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Gunnell examines the psychological antecedents of behaviours and mental health in various populations including children and youth, adults, and people diagnosed with chronic illness. Specific interests include:
Mental Health (e.g., hedonic and eudaimonic well-being; symptoms of mental disorders) Behaviours (e.g., physical activity, screen time, and sedentary time) Correlates and Mechanisms (e.g., psychological need satisfaction and frustration, motivational regulations, and goal contents) Disentangling complex reciprocal relationships between behaviours and psychological variables using longitudinal research designs Psychometrics
