Contract Instructor Opportunities 2015-2016
Carleton University, Institute of Biochemistry

 Pursuant to Article 16 of the CUPE 4600 Unit 2 Collective Agreement, applications are invited from members of the CUPE 4600-2 bargaining unit and other interested persons to teach the following Biochemistry courses during the 2015-2016 Fall/Winter terms.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates should hold at least an MSc in Biology, Biochemistry, or related field, and demonstrate teaching competence in a relevant area, preferably at the university level.  Priority will be given to candidates holding a PhD. For first and second year courses priority will be given to those with experience teaching large classes.

Winter BIOC 4001 Methods in Biochemistry Lectures Fridays 08:35-10:25

BIOC 4001 [0.5 credit]
Methods in Biochemistry

Principles and applications of modern biochemical methodology, including ultracentrifugation, electrophoresis, ELISA, EMSA, experimental planning, ligand binding kinetics, fluorescence spectroscopy, affinity purification, and in vitro translation.
Prerequisite(s): BIOC 3006 or permission of the Institute.
Lectures and discussion two hours, laboratory six hours a week.
