Publication alert: Machine learning to identify plastics in e-waste

Sydney Pedari (BSc Computational Biochemistry/2023 and MSc Biochemistry/2026) has published research on a workflow for the identification of seven types of e-waste plastics using time-gated Raman spectroscopy and machine learning classification models. This work was part of larger projects in the groups of Prof. Yaxi Hu (Institute of Biochemistry) and Daniel Grégoire (Institute of Biochemistry). The work shows a transferable and scalable solution, which may support accurate and efficient plastic identification and recovery.
