The call for Expressions of Interest for student governors for the 2026/27 Board year is now open.

The Carleton University Board of Governors is seeking Expressions of Interest from students to fill four vacant positions as a Student Governor for the 2026/27 Board Year. The following positions are vacant:

Students selected by the students-at-large to be considered for nomination to the Board and confirmed will serve a one-year term for the period of July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027. The deadline for applications is Friday, January 23, 2026.

Prospective student governors may consult the Student Governor Handbook for detailed information about the position, responsibilities, and the application process.

January 6      Call for Expressions of Interest begins
January 12Board 101 Mandatory Information Session from 12 pm to 1 pm EST (note: you only have to attend one of these sessions—either Jan. 12 or 15)
January 15Board 101 Mandatory Information Session from 12 pm to 1 pm EST.
January 23Deadline for Submission of Expressions of Interest (4pm EST)
January 26Validation of Student Expressions of Interest and Confirmation to Students Regarding Eligibility to Proceed with Registrar’s Office
January 26The University Secretary and Chief Governance Officer will notify candidates that they are eligible to continue in the Candidate Selection Process
Jan. 26 to Feb. 1Campaigning Period
February 2Online Voting Begins (link is activated at 10 am EST)
