Brightspace by D2L will replace cuLearn as Carleton’s Learning Management System (LMS) in May 2021, coinciding with the launch of the summer term.

In preparation for this launch, all Carleton students, staff and instructors now have access to Brightspace. You can log in to the system at brightspace.carleton.ca using your MC1 credentials.

The new system will provide several key advantages, including a faster, more reliable system and 24/7 technical support. Get to know the new interface by checking out the new MediaSpace channel where you’ll find Brightspace tours from instructor and student perspectives. More videos are in production, including a TA tour of Brightspace, and will be available soon.

Access Support

D2L provides on-demand technical support for Brightspace 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. You’ll be able to get answers to your questions anytime via email, chat and phone. Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) has also developed a Brightspace TA Support website, where you can find documentation on how to navigate and use the system.

Training

In May, TA-focused training workshops and resources will be available via Carleton Central and the TA Central Hub course in Brightspace. TLS will also be offering booked consultations for TAs looking for one-on-one assistance. Stay tuned for more details. If you have any questions about training, please reach out to Sam Shortt, Educational Development Coordinator, TLS.
