Carleton Civil Engineering students win the Mike Sheflin student paper competition
A Carleton University Civil Engineering design project group supervised by Ata Khan won the first prize in Ontario Public Works Association Ottawa Valley Branch Mike Sheflin Student Paper Competition held on Friday, April 12, 2013. At this yearly activity, Carleton University and University of Ottawa Civil Engineering students show case their best efforts in the area of Public Works. The winning project from Carleton University was titled “Carling Avenue Light Rail Transit”. This competition honours Mike Sheflin, who served as Commissioner of Public Works at the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton (renamed as the City of Ottawa). The Hunt Club Road Bridge across Rideau River is named after Mike Sheflin.
