Amanda Pappin receives Environment Canada/NSERC award
Amanda Pappin receives the Environment Canada Atmospheric and Meteorological Graduate Supplement for her research in air quality and human health. The award is given to holders of Doctorate-level NSERC Scholarships conducting research of particular interest to Environment Canada in the atmospheric or meteorological sciences. For her PhD research, Ms. Pappin uses advanced modelling techniques to address air pollution policy and health questions. The interdisciplinary nature of her work has extended the reach of atmospheric modelling tools beyond the traditional boundaries of engineering and science disciplines and into the health and policy communities. Ms. Pappin began her PhD in 2012 with Dr. Amir Hakami in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. She spent last year as a visiting researcher at Yale University while on a Fulbright Student Award.
