Carleton Fire Safety Engineering Group hosted IFireSS 2019
The Fire Safety Engineering Group of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering organised the 3rd International Fire Safety Symposium IFireSS 2019, at Carleton University on June 5-7, 2019. The goal of the IFireSS Symposia is to contribute to the exchange of ideas and knowledge among experts in the field of fire safety and to collect and disseminate the most advanced results of academy, practitioners and industry covering various areas of the field. The symposium was a great success and achieved that goal. Participants from 16 countries attended the three day event where 75 scientific papers were presented. The Symposium covered various topics of importance to fire safety, including fire safety of steel, concrete and timber structures, fire safety of heritage buildings, fire chemistry, fire dynamics and combustion, smoke movement and ventilation and evacuation.
