Profs. Liam O’Brien and Burak Gunay hosted a symposium on building occupant behaviour, OB-18, and the First Experts’ meeting of International Energy Agency – Energy in Buildings and Communities Annex 79: Occupant Behaviour-Centric Building Design and Operation. The events took place on Oct 10-12 at Orange Art Gallery and were attended by about 50 distinguished international participants. Prof. O’Brien and Prof. Andreas Wagner (Germany) are the Operating Agents of Annex 79 and will be leading a group of 50 researchers to advance the state-of-the-art on the topics of occupant comfort and occupant-centric design and controls from 2018 to 2023.
