Dr. Pulatsu joined Carleton University as an Assistant Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. Prior to joining Carleton University, he was a post-doctoral associate at the Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). He has a Ph.D.in Architectural Engineering (Structural) from the UNL (United States) and M.S. degrees from Technical University of Catalunya (Spain) and University of Minho (Portugal). He was awarded as an Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant in the College of Engineering at UNL in 2019.
Dr. Pulatsu specializes in computational modelling of masonry and reinforced concrete structures. He is passionate about structural analysis of historic masonry buildings, thermo-mechanical coupling problems in concrete and masonry, soil-structure phenomenon in bridges and retaining walls, and seismic assessment of historic structures.
