Armin Saeedi Javadi Wins 49th Michael Bozozuk Student Forum Competition with Research on MPM Simulation of Failure and Runout in Physical Models and Full-scale Deposits

Congratulations to Armin Saeedi Javadi for winning the 49th Bozozuk competition with his research on MPM simulation of failure and runout in physical models and full-scale deposits!

Armin graciously thanked his supervisor, Professor Paul Simms, and his co-supervisor, Professor Mario Martinelli for their continued guidance and support.

Held at Currie Hall, RMC in Kingston on March 27, 2025, the forum celebrated innovation in geotechnical engineering. Students, academics, and professionals gathered to share and discuss cutting-edge research.

The Michael Bozozuk Student Forum is an annual graduate student presentation competition initiated by the Canadian Geotechnical Society – National Capital Region (CGS-NCR). This forum has been named after the late Dr. Michael Bozozuk in his honour. Dr. Michael Bozozuk was a leader in the Canadian and National Capital Region Geotechnical communities, and received numerous awards and honours throughout his career, including the Leggett Medal, the highest award of the Canadian Geotechnical Society.
