David Clarabut Wins Best Presentation in Computational Mechanics at 2025 CSME International Congress
Congratulations to our Masters student, David Clarabut (M.A.Sc in Civil Engineering), for winning Best Presentation in the area of Computational Mechanics at the 2025 Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering (CSME) International Congress!
CSME’s annual conference was held in Montreal, Quebec on May 25-28 this year.

David presented a talk titled “Parameter estimation and model comparison of nonlinear aerodynamic models for limit cycle oscillations using Bayesian inference.”
The National Canadian Committee for Mechanics sponsors an annual competition during the CSME International Congress for the best presentation in the areas of (i) Fluid Mechanics, (ii) Solid Mechanics, and (iii) Computational Mechanics. This Competition is limited to junior researchers (i.e., graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and assistant professors).
The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering is so proud of David’s continued commitment and academic contributions to Civil Engineering.
